On Wednesday, April 15, Geronimo Power presented a $10,000 donation to the Exie Fire Department during a check presentation at the Exie Fire House in Greensburg, Kentucky. Community members were invited to attend and join the moment of recognition and appreciation.
The Exie Fire Department, an all-volunteer crew, plays a critical role in protecting and supporting communities across Green County. Donations like this carry special meaning for volunteer departments, helping ensure they have the resources needed to continue their emergency response, training, and preparedness efforts.
Fire Chief Arnold Matney and members of the Exie Fire Department accepted the contribution on behalf of the team, sharing their appreciation and highlighting the impact this support will have on their work serving the community.
The event also provided an opportunity for Geronimo Power to connect directly with local first responders and express gratitude for their dedication to public safety. Noura Hennen, Senior Manager of Project Development, was on-site to present the check and spend time with the crew.
“This department represents the heart of this community,” said Noura Hennen, Senior Manager of Project Development at Geronimo Power. “These are neighbors stepping up to serve neighbors, often without recognition. Being able to support their work — so they can continue showing up when it matters most — is incredibly meaningful to us.”
Photos included in this blog, taken by Noura, offer a glimpse into the department’s history and legacy of service — reflecting the deep roots and pride behind this volunteer team.
As development of the Exie Solar project moves forward, Geronimo Power remains committed to supporting the communities where it operates. This donation reflects that commitment in action — investing in the people and organizations that help keep communities safe and strong.
