In Casselton, North Dakota, a student who needs a coat, a toothbrush, or something to eat can get it without anyone knowing who asked. That is how the Central Cass Treehouse works. Founded by Heidi Domier, the nonprofit meets the basic needs of Central Cass students in every grade through an anonymous framework. No forms to fill out in front of anyone, no questions, no one singled out.
That design is deliberate, and it is the reason the Treehouse works. Kids cannot focus on school when their basic needs are not met, and asking for help should not cost a student their privacy.
So when Geronimo Power’s community advisory committee, local Cass County residents who help us understand what matters here and where our giving should go, weighed August’s $10,000 donation, students were an easy call. We had heard from neighbors that quietly looking after local kids was a real priority, and this is exactly the kind of grassroots effort we want to stand behind.
August’s gift went to the Central Cass Treehouse to provide clothing, hygiene items, and food to Central Cass students at all grade levels.
The Treehouse has earned its community’s trust, including from the kids it serves. It reflects what community support looks like at its best: practical help, offered without fuss, that gives students what they need to keep learning and growing.
