When a project becomes part of a community for decades, its benefits should be part of the community for decades, too. That idea is at the heart of the community fund connected to Harmony Solar in North Dakota, an annual $50,000 commitment created to support local causes for years to come.
We also heard a fair question from neighbors: why wait until the project is fully operational to begin investing locally? Community giving often starts after a project reaches that point. For Harmony Solar, we chose to begin earlier, at the start of construction, so the community can begin seeing benefits sooner. The commitment will grow as the project does. Once the battery storage component reaches the same milestone, the annual fund will increase by another $50,000.
The first $50,000 distribution will be made in 2026, with the community advisory committee helping guide funding decisions so the dollars are directed toward the priorities that matter most locally. It reflects a promise we take seriously: being a good neighbor means giving back to the communities we call home.
